Anime News Network is reporting that Nintendo will be entering the anime business in 2006. This follows from September in which Nintendo adviser Hiroshi Yamauchi announced the company was looking into the possibility of forming an animation studio.

Otakon has announced the date, location and changes for their 2005 venue. Otakon will take place in the Baltimore Convention Center, the same center as previous years. The date has been set for August 19 – 21, about two weeks later than normal.

November seems to be full of distribution deals, and here is another. In a press release today Geneon Entertainment announced they will be distributing anime from Toei Animation on DVD in the US and Canada. The first titles to be distributed under this agreement are Air Master, Interlude and Slam Dunk.

In a press release sent out yesterday, WEA and Central Park Media have announced an exclusive US distibution agreement. WEA will be the exclusive US distibutor for Central Park Media’s anime catalog. This deal is for both anime audio and anime video.

Nausicaa.net is reporting that the triple Ghibli movie set is being released by Disney on February 22nd. Disney had originally pulled the movies off of their release list without explanation.
