More info has surfaced on the Hellsing OVA. The episodes will run at 35 minutes each in anamorphic widescreen and will feature a 5.1 soundtrack. The series is considered “open-ended” until the manga is finished. The manga author is said to be heavily involved in all aspects of the animation.

Gentosha Comics Inc. announced that they will be distributing English language versions of their manga online. Chapters will be uploaded from five of their mangas on the 28th of each month. Each chapter will be available for 210 yen or $1.91. Gentosha hopes this way of distributing will expand the sale of their comic copyrights.

It appears that Tokyopop has allowed their Marmalade Boy and Kodocha licenses expire. This follows their expiration of their Sailor Moon license. According to this website, it seems likely that Del Rey will be picking up both Marmalade Boy and Sailor Moon.

The rights to the Sailor Moon manga have expired and are now under the control of their original Japanese owners. Tokyopop confirms that the mangas are now out of print.

Anchor Bay Entertainment sent out a press release earlier today stating that they would be releasing Manga Entertainment’s Ghost in the Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire and Ninja Scroll on Universal Media Discs (UMD). The company states that the format has done well, despite its young age. The discs will retail for $19.98 each.

Anime News Service reports that Toriyama Studios will produce a Blue Dragon manga to accompany the XBOX 360 game of the same name. The manga will run in Shonen Jump in Japan and ANS states that it will “definitely” be published in the United States and Europe.

Issue eight of Nikkei Characters Magazine revealed that production for a new Megazone 23 is in the works. Details have not yet been disclosed, although the characters Eve and Garland will be returning.

Gonzo’s Basilisk as been licensed by Funimation. The announcement came from A-Kon, but Anime News Network states it was also announced at Wizard World Philadelphia.
