A new Jin-Roh digital anime short titled “Images of the Last Battalion” is now online. The short was created by Production IG animator Koushi Kishida and was won the Digital Frontier Grand Prix Best VFX Award.

Gainax has announced Maiking Break-Through Gurren-Lagann, a new sci-fi/mecha anime. The 26 episode series will be produced in cooperation with Aniplex and Konami and will premier next spring. The screenwriter is Nakajima Kazuki.

According to Nausicaa.net, a press conference was held yesterday announcing the completion of Gedo Senki, or, Tales from Earthsea. An announcement from Toshio Suzuki states plans to release the film in about 50 countries, but with no details. South Korea’s opening was announced as August 10.
