Downloadable English Manga
Gentosha Comics Inc. announced that they will be distributing English language versions of their manga online. Chapters will be uploaded from five of their mangas on the 28th of each month. Each chapter will be available for 210 yen or $1.91. Gentosha hopes this way of distributing will expand the sale of their comic copyrights.
July’s issue is currently up and is available for free. Viewers are required to download a “reader” and the current chapter is about 33 megabytes.
The five manga for download will be:
- Bushido by Ken Asamatsu and Hiromoto Shinichi
- Gravitation by Maki Murakami
- The Legend of Floating Clouds and A Peach Blade by Enn Sachizaki
- Under the Rose Paean of Spring by Akari Funato
- Special Task Force , the Battle Ship Yumihari by Hitoshi Tomizawa
